In the professional category the Costa del Sol hosts annually several mayor tournaments of the European Golf Circuit. These events bring together the best golfers in the world. The town of San Roque in the province of Cádiz was host of the 2020 edition of the Estrella Damm Andalucía Masters which is included in the European Tour schedule, the second edition will take place from 1 to 6 May 2021. This tournament takes place in the Real Club Valderrama,, a course known as the “European Augusta”, which has hosted tournaments including one Ryder Cup and two World Cups. The Andalucía Valderrama Masters will see the participation of some of the most prestigious golfers in the world. This event is organised by PGA European Tour, the main body in Europe and the second worldwide, after the PGA US Tour. This organisation was created by the British Association of Professional Golfers and has included continental Europe since 1984. The PGA European Tour, which will organise the Andalucía Valderrama Masters for the coming years, includes three professional circuits in Europe: the European Tour, the European Seniors Tour and the Challenge Tour. With headquarters in the United Kingdom, this organisation is controlled by the golfers themselves and its main aim is to increase the number of professional tournaments and players. The PGA European Tour also manages the Ryder Cup in collaboration with the PGA USA.

Headquarters of the Ryder Cup 1997 and is one of the most valuable examples of Andalusian golf. Furthermore, journalists have chosen it on three occasions as the best course in Europe.
The Volvo Masters Andalusia held between 2002 and 2007, made all eyes in Europe turn towards the Valderrama Golf Club which served as an incentive to make numerous improvement to the already beautiful course. Every last detail of the course is meticulously cared for.
The fairways were designed using mathematical precision, framing the hundred or so bunkers and some raised greens. An original design by Robert Trent Jones, Valderrama Golf Club also has the stamp from Seve, who updated the 17th hole.
